About

Safety. Confidence. New Found Skills.

I firmly believe citizens have both the right and responsibility to protect themselves and their families from those who would intentionally do them harm.  It is critical however the citizen who chooses to arm him/herself fully comprehends the legal and moral responsibilities associated with the choice to take a human life.  Moreover, the cornerstone of that choice must be confidence in his/her weapons handling skills which can only be developed through on-going and realistic training.

TriggerPress firearms training is not driven by competition between attending students. The simple objective, regardless of experience or skill, is to help each student realize a greater sense of confidence with all aspects of firearms manipulation and shooting, with safety always being the bedrock of that training.

Any of us can walk into a gun shop and drop five bills on a new handgun for personal defense. That is the easy part. Of far greater importance is whether we are willing to make the commitment to receive quality training should we actually be called upon to protect ourselves and our loved ones. I don’t just mean a single one time shooting class, but on going training to build upon and maintain our otherwise perishable skills.

Trained shooters are confident shooters, and confident shooters make better decisions under duress. We owe the ability to make good decisions not just to ourselves and loved ones, but equally to the man we are confronting. And nothing will test your level of training and  confidence more than the moment you confront another human-being with a loaded gun in your hand.

There are many great firearms instructors for you to draw from. I encourage you to study your options, ask others about their experiences,  and seek training from not just one, but multiple sources.

The decision to own a gun for personal defense is both a blessing and a burden, and goes way beyond just buying a gun.
